Mathematics page of Andres Valloud.

I am currently finishing up my PhD studies at Oregon State University. My advisor is Professor Holly Swisher.

Research interests.

My interests are generally in number theory, including complex analysis, combinatorics, partitions, and generating functions. I am also very fond of computer science areas that overlap with number theory, such as integer factorization, integer dynamical systems, random number generation, hashing, compression, and infinite precision integer arithmetic. My programming interests encompass algorithm analysis in broad terms.

Math wise, lately I have been studying applications of the WZ algorithm to supercongruences, and in particular how to obtain suitable WZ pairs algorithmically.

On the computer science front, I have been implementing programming languages professionally since 2007. This includes work on JIT compilers, FFI interfaces, memory managers, interacting with operating system libraries, integer and floating point arithmetic, closures, exception handling, and so on.
